WCT – Women in counterterrorism: Consultation workshop in Amman, Jordan

WIIS Brussels organised a consultation workshop as part of its EU-funded project « Promoting the role of women in security and counterterrorism » on 23 October 2022. The event brought together counterterrorism experts from the law enforcement, intelligence, judiciary and academic communities from the EU, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt.

Pauline Massart presented the project’s initial findings, focusing on the challenges and opportunities faced by women in the security and counterterrorism key solutions.

The workshop saw the active participation of participants and provided a unique opportunity to exchange on the best practices put in place in the region, discussing possible recommendations and measures to improve gender equality in the criminal justice response to counterterrorism to feature in the final report, and in the guidance to be produced as part of the project.
